Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, two notable personalities with a single goal: to entertain as many people as possible with their deep and funky house sound. As a DJ duo, they are irresistible. Put them in a DJ booth together and instant interaction and chemistry is there, with an eye for the audience and an ear for each other. Effortlessly adapting to one another seems to be no problem for these two best friends and partners in crime.

From the moment they entered the DJ profession, they agreed to do something serious with their common passion: house music. Quickly after their first gig together Sunnery and Ryan established themselves as top DJs.

Besides performing, they are very busy with producing. Even that is something they do together. As if they don’t see enough of one another during gigs and their private lives, they’re also studio buddies. In May 2008 they released their first track ‘Pina. One month later, Sunnery and Ryan released the club hit ‘Lift U Up’, featuring Melvin Reese and Chappell. After these successful productions, Sunnery & Ryan continued with tracks such as ‘The Desert’, which has been released on D.O.N.S.’s Kingdome Cuts, and several remixes such as Sander Kleinenberg’s ‘This Is Our Night’ and Kaskade’s ‘Dynasty’.
In February 2010, Sunnery and Ryan launched their very own ‘Amazone Project’ event in Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam. 5500 fans came to join the SJ-RM-hype and witnessed an exclusive 5-hour-set. The Amazone Project compilation album entered #2 in the charts. Amazone Project also hosted areas at the Dirty Dutch Indoor event (30.000 visitors) and the Dirty Dutch VS The World Festival.

One night, Joshua Radin was in the club and asked Jansen to audition for his touring band. She landed the gig, quit her day job, and spent six weeks on the road singing back-up vocals and playing piano, as well as opening for Radin in 2008...

Laura Jansen,
a Dutch-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and musician, chronicles those little things, like cutting her hair, buying pink floral sheets, and venturing out for a drink with the guy down the hall, on "Single Girls" - the deceptively simple, but emotionally devastating first single from Bells, Jansen's upcoming debut album for Universal's Decca Records. A dreamy collection of piano-driven alt-pop songs, Bells has already gone platinum in Jansen's native Holland, propelled by "Single Girls" and a stunning cover of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," which has spent more than a year lodged in the Top 10 on the Dutch singles chart. In the U.S., Jansen is a fixture in the constellation of artists associated with Los Angeles nightclub The Hotel Cafe - a musical haven, creative incubator, and ultimately, national launching pad for such confessional-minded artists as Joshua Radin, whom Jansen toured with in 2008 and will hit the road with again this year.

From Cleveland via New York and LA,
Joshua Radin is the uniquely word-of-mouth global success story that's just about to get a whole lot bigger with the release of his third album The Rock and The Ride, due out this fall on Mom and Pop Records.
Radin only turned to music after college, when he moved to New York City, bought a guitar and began learning to play his favorite Beatles and Bob Dylan tunes. Soon he was writing songs of his own. "I was always trying to find some medium to express myself," says Radin, who had previously studied art and spent six years writing screenplays. "When I started writing songs, I thought, 'This is as honest as I can be: getting onstage with my guitar and my voice and singing for people.'"

Music review in The New York Times: Recreating a Bill of the Obscure and the Familiar (by Allan Kozinn, Feb 26, 2011)

Ever since her Concertgebouw debut in 1997, Janine Jansen has been a huge star in her native Holland. Today she is internationally recognised as one of the great violinists – a truly exciting and versatile artist.
Janine Jansen is a fresh faced and energetic Dutch violinist who entered the classical music scene in the late '90s. She studied violin at the University of Utrecht and made her debut with the Concertgebouw Amsterdam in 1997. The response to Jansen's debut in Europe was immediate, and her international reputation was established after an appearance made in London with the Philharmonia Orchestra in November 2002. Shortly thereafter she began to record for Decca in the U.K.
Jansen's first album gained generally positive critical notices; however, the response to her second, Vivaldi: The Four Seasons, came as a bit of a reality check to many. Jansen's willful, anti-historic, and highly interventionist reading of the familiar Vivaldi work was a little over the top for many reviewers. The front cover of the disc also made some wonder if the thrust of Jansen's marketing was on her looks rather than her artistic ability. In this respect, her first American tour, held in late 2005 -- early 2006, was inconclusive, though generally well attended. Time will tell if Jansen is an artist of the class that is here to stay, or a player whose primary effect is to make other violinists jealous and serve a magnet for the wrath of classical music purists.

PIANO GUITAR DUO

Robert Bekkers concerts & lessons - Tucson, AZ

For more info
The piano and guitar, two of the most popular instruments, once accompanied each other in 19th century chamber music. Nowadays it is a rare but special occasion to see this unusual combination in the classical music scene.
Anne Ku and Robert Bekkers formed their PIANO GUITAR DUO in 2001, reviving this almost forgotten tradition of music making. This once favourite pastime of bringing together performers, composers and enthusiastic audiences has left a largely untapped legacy of published music specifically written for the piano and guitar.Using modern instruments, the duo has rekindled music from earlier periods. Just as importantly, Ku and Bekkers’ performances are encouraging contemporary composers to write for this deserving combination. Their collaboration has already inspired original music for piano and guitar, expanding the existing repertoire with exciting new possibilities.
This husband-wife team have performed in London, North Cyprus, Cape Town, Italy, Belgium, Spain and throughout the Netherlands. Their first visit to the USA in December 2007 included two house concerts in Houston and a live radio appearance on Houston Public Radio followed by live radio broadcast on Manao Radio Wailuku and a sponsored public concert in Maui, Hawaii.

Expect the unexpected. That’s the best advice for someone attending an Available Jelly concert. Through the years, the line-up and the repertoire have changed many times. But there’s one thing that you can be sure of: there’ll be plenty of strong melodies. The music can be wild, dense, smooth, empty, swinging or poin tillistic, but it’s always interesting.

Available Jelly is a 5-piece group featuring some of the Netherlands’ top improvisers. It’s a pocket brass band that ingeniously blends written material and free improvisation in a warm and natural way. They play originals, and an eclectic mix of jazz, world music (from Balkans to Madagascar) and popular songs (Kurt Weill, Burt Bacharach), cleverly arranged by Michael Moore and with plenty of room for improvisation and interpretation.
