Sander Kleinenberg at Cielo

September 30, 2010 at 10pm

Tickets: http://www.clubtickets.com/

Sander Kleinenberg knows how dancefloors work: he’s instigated ‘sweaty’ scenes around the world, observing what makes people move from Belfast to Buenos Aires. Ultimately, the mechanics of the dancefloor revolve around just one thing: good dance music. Sander knows about this, too. His own vinyl creations are saturated in clubland so that they virtually perspire dry ice and radiate glitterball shards from their grooves. It’s time to get back to basics, to stop watching the DJ and get back on the dancefloor.

He took the party island’s “Best Trance DJ” prize at the annual DJ Awards ceremony this year and two years ago; got tailed by some road-tripping fans on a Southern Comfort-sponsored, 26-city bus tour of America; and had his life’s work interpreted in music, video and décor at his annual Masquerade event “Full on Ferry”, at 12,000-capacity arena Ahoy in his hometown, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Wertheims blend of smart theatrical and controversial Stand-up earned him praise in the Netherlands and at the 2007/8 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Wertheim has managed to both shock and charm his audiences combining hard-hitting cutting edge comedy with an adorable accent.

"This is one sharp hour of stand-up comedy.(...) Who knows when he'll be back? Catch him while you can."
New York Post (Fringnyc 2010)

"RUSH TO THIS SHOW: Amsterdam Abortion Survivor Wertheim's humor is brave, dark and universal. Come to think of it – he is probably closer to Mark Twain."
